JARDIS the label for “fine guitar jazz”
Besides being the man behind all activities at Jardis, Heiner Franz works as a freelance musician in jazz, the theatre, with radio orchestras, and composing and producing music for TV documentaries.
By the mid 1980s he decided to concentrate on a career as a jazz guitarist. He played with various groups throughout Germany where he now is regarded as one of the country’s leading players. He also played frequently with Louis Stewart.
In 1993 they founded the European Jazz Guitar Orchestra, a five guitars plus rhythm band, which also featured Doug Raney, French guitarist Frederic Sylvestre and the Dutchman Maarten Van Der Grinten. Heiner also now makes his own line in jazz guitars as well as continuing to release quality jazz albums on his Jardis label.
